It's mid-August, and I say this year after year, "Where did the summer go?!" Whether you are a hard-working local of the Northwoods making hay while the sun shines or you are a second-home resident of the area, summers always go too fast. With the end of another summer season comes a recurring theme of second-homeowners pondering the thought of putting their place up for sale the following Spring. Maybe you didn't get up to the cabin as much as you would have liked or you're getting tired of the upkeep that comes with owning a seasonal home and you're ready to see how it fairs on the market next year? If this is you and you are emotionally ready to list your place in the next 6 months we want to hear from you now!

With everything in life it's always best to plan ahead. If you close up your cabin Labor Day weekend and don't come back up until Memorial Day Weekend, we want to sit down with you in person before you leave, get a feel for your place, assess the current market, and create a marketing plan and timeline so your home is 100% ready to hit the market come Spring.

Similar to humans, our homes do not photograph well in the Spring.

We see a huge hike in home search activity in January, February and March from people thinking about purchasing a cabin in hopes to be settled in by summer. To give prospective buyers that summer-on-the-lake feeling that pulled you into buying your current Northwoods cabin, we highly suggest shooting your home when the trees are full, the flowers are blooming and the lakes are open.

Deciding to sell your home is no easy decision and while we are here to help our clients, we will never put pressure on a seller to get their home on the market quickly.
